Scott focuses on healthcare, risk, and the commercialization and scale of deep tech. He leads DCVC’s Computational Care investment thesis, backing companies pushing deep compute and empathy closer to the care journey in US and global healthcare. Scott serves on the Board of Directors of numerous DCVC portfolio companies in healthcare, financial services, and deep tech sectors.
Prior to DCVC, Scott invested in and advised several groundbreaking investments in healthcare, network effects, and platforms of augmented intelligence. Scott’s previous roles include leading operational and innovation teams at CVS Health, helping to create and then scale Surescripts, consulting at The Boston Consulting Group, and starting a capital markets desk in London for Montgomery Securities (later Bank of America Securities). Scott was militantly liberal arts and science at the University of Virginia, joyously attained an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau France, and learned about teams as both a football quarterback and manufacturing floor worker in his small Virginia town.
